Some people say volunteering is good for kids because it teaches them the value of helping in their community. Others say volunteering, by definition, is a choice and shouldn't be forced on kids. I think that volentering near the holidays is a great way to help people learn what the holiday season is all about. And helping other people makes you feel good inside.
ReplyDeleteI think that students should be required to voluneer in community-service because they should know that it is good to help other people in need... Also, if there is a student in trouble and they get sent out of the room for however many minutes they should spend that time helping out the volunteers that are helping in the community-service program thing... (If there is one in that school).
ReplyDeleteI think comunity service is a very good thing to do. You should do it because it's better for the comunity and for yourself. my old school would go out and sing Christmas songs to elders. The building was right next to the school. Clearly, I think Comunity service is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteI agree with both of them. I do think that kids should help in the community because it does teach us to do service. But we should not have to do it if we don't want to. But we still should.
ReplyDeleteI think volunteering is good even if it is 'forced', Life in general won't give you choices every time.If kids start doing it now it will prepare them for life.Also, what's so bad about helping your community? You will feel good and make you feel you helped someone
ReplyDeleteI think that you should do community service if you want and that you should do it if you want to but you should'nt have to do it beacause it's your choice.
ReplyDeleteI don't think they should force kids to volunteer because some kids don't have time to do it(extra homework,family,etc). Plus you would normally sign up to volunteer and it is a choice.
ReplyDeleteI think volunteering is a good thing if kids would like to do it. I agree, it shouldn't be forced on kids. The kids should be able to make the decision of volunteering or not.

ReplyDeletePeople should not force students to volunteer. Voluntering is a choice made by the student not the teacher.
ReplyDeleteSurely kids want to volunteer for things but they shouldnt be forced. If they want to volunteer they should fill out a form with a parent signature or something. If they dont want to volunteer then just let them do something of their choice or nothing at all.
ReplyDeleteI say no because you cant be forced doing something you don't want to do. Also if you want some one to volunteer you could maybe persuade them.:>
ReplyDeleteI think that it is good to be a volunter. It is good because if you volunter to clean the wet lands you help save the earth.Or you could volunter to help out at a shelter and either help give food to the homeless people or help out poor animals. Also if you volunter you just get a sense of pride for helping other people and not just yourself.

ReplyDeleteyes, I think they should be forced because it prepares them for high school and its like a report, nobody wants to do it but its a grade!!!
ReplyDeleteI think kids should volunteer because in the future they would know what to do. Like if they went on a field trip to the zoo. They could say oh I learned how to volunteer back in my kid days.

ReplyDeleteI think that it's good thing to volunteer because even though it can be tiring I think that it's helpful to help the community. Another way it's helpful to volunteer is that not only you're helping the community but you're making people happy.
