Learning About Cancer

You may have questions about cancer.  Here's where you can find more information.  You can also write a comment if you have questions to which you cannot find answers.

What is chemotherapy (chemo)?

What is radiation?

Sometimes kids with cancer can't come to school.  Why not?

  1. Chemotherapy is a medicine that kills bad cells but also kills your hair cells. Radiation is everywhere, it is a process in which energy is given off in the form of particles and rays. Kids with cancer can't come to school because there are a lot of germs in places like school, and they can get sick easily around other people who are sick.

  4. Radiation sounds like a hard ting to have. But at least it is helping people get better from cancer. I don't think I could ever have radiation done to me without being scared.
